Continued success for Skybus Services in Melbourne
03 February 2009
The Melbourne Airport Skybus service has seen a growing increase in passengers based on the previous year.
Taking 20 minutes journey time and running every 10 minutes during the day between Melbourne Airport and Southern Cross Station in Melbourne CBD Skybus is the airport’s main city bus service.
Skybus Managing Director Simon Cowen indicated that their success was due to an increase in passenger flow at Mebourne Airport, cheap carrier airlines expanding their services and passengers recognising Skybus as stress-free and value for money.
Skybus figures show passengers using the service from Melbourne Airport to Mebourne CBD last year to be around 1.6 million in total with around 960,000.00 of these tourists.
Southern Cross Station transport interchange allows Skybus to provide a connecting service with trains and trams to other parts of Melbourne and the rest of Australia.
