Australia Zoo top of the stops 2008

At a dazzling ceremony held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, Australia Zoo took the award for Queenslands best tourist attraction, for the second year in a row.
Australia Zoo became famous with the rise to stardom of the late Steve Irwin the Crocodile Hunter. Steves vivacious and unique television appearances, shows and documentaries took environmental and animal welfare issues into front rooms all over the globe. Steve Irwins widow Terri Irwin, their children Bindi and Robert and the Australia Zoo team have continued and built on Steves legacy, and were congratulated by Desley Boyle Tourism Minister as she announced their win.
The awards held on 14th November 2008 saw the eve of Steve Irwin Day at the Zoo.
Queensland Airports Limited presented the awards event.
