As from 27th October 2008, holders of EU passports wishing to travel to Australia will be eligible to apply for their visa through the eVisitor Visa system. This has been introduced to simplify the online visa application and is a replacement for the ETA visa for holders of European Union Passports.

Travellers who hold one of these passports can make an online application for their visa to Australia whether the purpose of their visit is to visit friends and relatives, tourism and sightseeing or for short-term non-working business (training or studying).

Please note that all electronic visas applied for on this site allow entry into Australia for a maximum of 3 months on any one visit and are valid for either 12 months or until passport expiry if sooner. The validity of the Long Term Business Visa however can last up to 10 years.

Important: None of these visas allow anyone either to work in Australia or to stay there for more than 3 months.

Once your Visa is approved you will be informed by email and we recommend you retain a printed copy of your approval and take this with you when you travel even though you will be recognised electronically from your passport number.

You can keep track of your visa status by logging back into our website with your unique customer number which you will receive when you submit your application.
Please note that not all airlines accept ETA’s. Please check the enclosed list.

It is recommended by both ourselves and the Australian Government that you arrange your ETA (Electronic Travel Authority) before booking your trip to ensure that you have been granted approval to visit Australia as travel documents are not needed to apply for an ETA.

Please ensure that you inform your travel agent that you are in possession of an ETA when booking your trip. If however you have already booked your trip but have made no arrangements for an ETA you can do this here in advance of your departure date.

Most ETA applications take approximately 24 hours to process providing that you meet ETA eligibility requirements.

*Holders of Taiwan passports can only be processed when applying and resident in Taiwan
